Columbus Earth Corp.
Terms of Service
Effective date: 15 August 2026
Welcome to columbus.earth, the website of Columbus Earth Corp., a Delaware corporation (“Columbus”, “we”, “us”). These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and the features on it, including our research articles, blog, contact and careers forms, email subscriptions, and the AI-powered support chat. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who may use the site
You may use the site if you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from doing so under applicable law. If you use the site on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that company. The site is not directed at children under 16.
What these Terms cover, and what they do not
These Terms cover this website only: the pages at columbus.earth and the features built into them. They do not cover our products themselves.
- Elio, our consumer app, is currently reached through a separate site at mapsgpt.es. Access to Elio is governed by its own terms, published where the app is offered. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Elio.
- Columbus Pro, our business product, is provided under separate written agreements between Columbus and each customer. Nothing on this website is an offer of the product itself, and no content here forms part of any customer contract.
If you join a waitlist, request a demo, or contact sales, that is a request for information. Any actual product access will be governed by the terms you accept at that point.
Our content and intellectual property
The site and its content belong to Columbus or our licensors. This includes our text, research articles, product descriptions, designs, graphics, interface mockups, code, videos, logos, and the names Columbus, Columbus Earth, Columbus Pro, and Elio.
You may view the site and share links to it. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission, except as allowed below or by applicable law.
Quoting our research. We publish research writing because we want people to read and discuss it. You may quote reasonable excerpts from our articles for commentary, criticism, research, or teaching, provided you credit Columbus Earth and link to the original article. This permission does not extend to republishing whole articles or presenting our writing as your own.
Training AI models on our content. You may use our published research writing to train or evaluate machine learning models, on one condition: attribution. Where a model or the product built on it surfaces our material, whether quoted, paraphrased, or summarised, it must credit Columbus Earth as the source and, where the format allows, link to the original article. We publish llms.txt precisely so that crawlers can find this writing, and we would rather be read and cited than walled off. Attribution is what we ask in return. This permission covers the research and blog writing; it does not cover our logos, brand names, or product interfaces, and it does not let you present our work as your own.
Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the site’s content or data, whether by bot, crawler, or otherwise, except for ordinary search engine indexing and the attributed AI training permitted above;
- reverse engineer, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its APIs, or the systems behind them;
- interfere with the site’s operation, including by overloading it, injecting malicious code, or circumventing rate limits or security measures;
- misuse the AI chat: do not attempt to extract its underlying prompts or systems, use it to generate harmful or unlawful content, flood it with automated requests, or use it for any purpose other than asking about Columbus and our products;
- submit false, misleading, or unlawful information through our forms;
- impersonate any person or organisation;
- use the site in any way that violates applicable law.
We may limit, suspend, or block access to the site for anyone who violates these Terms.
Content you send us
The site lets you send us content: messages through the contact form, career enquiries, resume or portfolio links, and email addresses for updates.
When you submit content, you grant Columbus a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, copy, and share it internally as needed to respond to you, evaluate your enquiry or application, and operate our business. We do not claim ownership of what you send us.
You confirm that anything you submit is yours to send, is accurate to your knowledge, and does not violate anyone else’s rights or any confidentiality obligation. Please do not send us confidential information or trade secrets through the site. Nothing you submit through these forms creates a confidential relationship with us.
If you submit a link to a resume or other document hosted elsewhere, you are responsible for that link and its content, and you confirm we may access it for the purpose you sent it.
For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
AI chat and AI output
Parts of the site, including the support chat on our business pages, use artificial intelligence to generate responses.
AI output can be wrong. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and may not reflect our current products, pricing, or capabilities. AI responses are provided for general information only. They are not professional advice of any kind: not legal, financial, investment, engineering, geospatial, or site-selection advice, and not a contractual commitment by Columbus.
Do not rely on AI chat output to make decisions. Verify anything important with us directly through the contact form or at contact@columbus.earth. Only a written agreement signed by Columbus creates binding commitments about our products.
Third-party links and services
The site contains links to and content from third parties, including our app site at mapsgpt.es, social platforms, stock imagery providers, and the services we use to receive form submissions and measure site usage. We do not control third-party sites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
Changes to the site and to these Terms
We are an early-stage company and the site changes often. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.
We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to give more prominent notice. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that its content, including research articles and AI output, is accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Columbus and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the site will not exceed the total amount, if any, you have paid us to access it. This website is free to use, so in practice that amount is nothing. If you later buy a Columbus product, the agreement covering that product sets its own limit, and this paragraph does not apply to it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Columbus and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or content you submit to us in breach of the commitments above.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, this paragraph does not take that right away.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Columbus about your use of the website. You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
